Java Jacks – Mentone, Ind.
A small-town shop with the biggest heart we’ve seen.
We had the honor in visiting a quaint coffee shop in Mentone, Indiana, a small town in the north east part of the state. After two people had told us to try out the shop, we knew that had to be the next stop.
The experience we had there was wonderful.
Java Jacks is run by a man named Jack and his wife, and when you walk in the door you are greeted by them and given a piece of cake. That’s right! They make cake and bring it to their customers.
We tried a few drinks. First was a white chocolate mocha. It had a hint of cinnamon added to the drink, but it still tasted great. We also tried a Peanut Butter “Big Train,” which appeared to be their version of a Frappuccino. My favorite drink of the day was the hot chocolate. Jack made us some hot chocolate to-go, and it may have been the best hot chocolate we have ever had.
The service we had at Java Jacks was wonderful and personal. This place was a small-town shop with a big heart. They had community members that appeared to visit regularly, and they took care of every single one of them in a timely manner. Not to mention that their prices were very affordable. Just make sure when you visit Java Jacks, bring cash!
